MaxWell Biosystems: Exclusive UNIL Workshop
Description
Microelectrode array (MEA) technology is routinely used to non-invasively measure the physiological activity of neurons. MEA devices feature arrays of metal electrodes, which record electrical activity simultaneously from thousands of cells. We will present two novel high-density MEA (HD-MEA) systems that allow for studying neural signals at high resolution, in networks and single cells. The systems can be used to accurately characterize: primary neural cultures, iPSC-derived neurons modeling human diseases, organotypic/acute brain slices, organoids, retinas, and spinal cord slices. We will present the HD-MEA technology and applications for neuroscience. During a live demonstration, we will also show relevant data and analysis techniques to demonstrate how HD-MEA technology facilitates the study of physiological processes in biological samples.
